Lightroom Print Settings menu problem-reverts to Mac generic print menu instead

For years i have been printing to my large format HP z9+ from Lightroom Classic with ease. I recently purchased a Mac Studio and upgraded to latest mac ios. Attempting to print today i experienced a brand new issue: using a custom .icc profile for printer and paper as i always do i click on "Print Settings" button to access the Lightroom print dialog menu however Lightroom opens the generic mac print menu instead. Needless to say printing from this mac menu results in horrible, useless prints.

I'm stumped as to how to get Lightroom to present its menu again.

any hints?

well, now I see that HP won't provide software update for Mac any longer unless it's MacOS 10

anyone want a HP designjet Z9?
