Photoshop goes through the process but does not make a selection. This happens in 2025 2026 and latest beta 27.2. Same image works fine as RGB.

Launch BETA Photoshop While Pressing The Keyboard Shortcut
With Photoshop closed, press and hold Shift+Ctrl+Alt (Win) / Shift+Command+Option (Mac) on your keyboard and then Launch Photoshop the way you normally would.

Latest beta 27.2 but also does not work in 2025 or 2026 released versions.

Resetting the prefs using the keyboard shortcut on startup did not fix the issue on 27.2 beta.

Photoshop goes through the motions and does show highlighted areas as shown in the screenshot but does not make an active selection.
