I have an original full version of Adobe CS6 that I bought many years ago from Adobe. I now use their Creative Cloud All Apps. I video tape our church service and author the DVD of the service and have been doing this for several years. I still use Adobe Encore program from CS6 because I’m used to it and it meets my needs. As you know, Adobe stopped making Encore and no longer support it either. Several months ago my main desk top computer crashed and I had to have a new motherboard installed so while I was having that done, I had them upgrade a few other components - basically a new computer. When I got it back I tried to reinstall Encore from CS6 but I got a message that said I had installed on too many computers (I also have it installed on my backup desktop computer). I could not uninstall it on the computer I was on because it crashed. When I called Adobe to try and solve my problem I was told they no longer support Encore so they could not help me. I thought certainly there must be a file or something within the file they have on me where they could “release” one of the licenses so I can reinstall it but they never offered that service nor were willing to run it up the flag pole. Now I have to switch to my backup computrer to author any DVDs I want to create. Does anyone know of a work around for this issue? Is there another DVD authoring program out there that would do just as good as Encore did?

Adobe does not reset activations. You can continue using it on your backup computer until you upgrade your hardware or OS. Or until you have a second crash.
Adobe discontinued Encore in thirteen years ago in 2012 and it is no longer available. Encore does not even have a board in the Community Forums that we can move your post to.

We have been asked not to recommend non-Adobe applications on the Adobe forums. You might do web search for alternatives or ask in another platform, such as Reddit.

Thank you for the quick reply. I understand the issue with recommending non Adobe products. Too bad I will no longer be able to use Encore after my current installed version, for whatever reason, bites the dust.

One item that seems odd. If Adobe no longer supports Encoure CS6 and the main desktop computer I had one licensed installed on crashed then how did Adobe know I originally had Encour CS6 installed on 2 computers earlier? That info must reside somewhere at Adobe. Seems to be supported in one direction - Adobe knows enough not to allow you to reinstall but not enough to reinstall when you have the right to and paid for it years earlier.

Adobe has made a business decision to no longer reset activations. I suspect that they will quit activating CS% and CS6 at some point and those will effectively be dead like older CS versions, unless someone went the legal route.
Get ready! An upgraded Adobe Community experience is coming in January.
