Use of modified stock images on components of a tabletop game

Hi, I am currently in the process of designing a tabletop game. The game will consist of many components including a large amount of cards, each of which will be made up of a selection of images that will be modified and merged together to fit the games theme. As these images would be numerous in making up each of the many cards, I am unsure if each image would be considered as prominent? This game will hopefully be sold commercially but will only be produced a limited amount of times (way less than 500,000 prints).

My query is, can modified versions of these images be used as small (in my opinion, non-prominent) images on components under the standard licence?

Kind regards,

Agata
