RAW files have whatever bit depth that the camera saves in. HOWEVER, you specify the rendered bit depth in your RAW processor software.

Hey, @simon28997170cvbr. Welcome to the Lightroom Community. I'll help you figure this out.
The specific lens isn't supported, as per https://adobe.ly/4hrKqb8;
What format are the lens correction profiles you've received? You can follow this conversation to import Lens Profiles manually: https://adobe.ly/3FhpxCd
Let me know if it helps. Thanks! Sameer K

Deleting the Camera Raw Preferences did it for me, thanks to this old thread and answer from user TheDigitalDog https://community.adobe.com/t5/photoshop-ecosystem-discussions/photoshop-2023-will-not-open-camera-raw-filter/m-p/13627925#M711534

When you don't see the "open" option in the error message dialog you need to take the following steps to enable the droplet: Open the Apple menu > System Preferences > Privacy & Security > below under Security the droplet is mentioned and can be opened anyway > after that it works. Should you not see it there, then make sure to try and run the droplet first (doubleclick).

The error is caused due to low storage on the drive in which you have your images saved, Make sure you have sufficient storage available in order to save the new DNG file with denoise settings, it should fix the issue.

I had the same issue and went back and fourth between editing, exporting, viewing. Not the best solution, but it worked for me. also setting a scong monitor as viewing monitor somehow showed me the image i would see after exporting. There simply is no real solution to this issue. I feel like Per wanted to help and comes from a place of a lot of experience which sometimes makes it hard to understand. We all had the same issue, you're not alone. No reason to get that mad tho(:

You’ve posted to an ancient thread. It is highly unlikely that the issue described in this thread, though not impossible, is the same one you are currently experiencing. Rather than resurrect an old thread that is seemingly similar, you are better off posting to a new thread with fresh, complete information, including system information, a complete description of the problem, and step-by-step instructions for reproduction.
If the issue is the same, we will merge you back into the appropriate location.

This thread will be locked.
Thank you!

I struggled for hours today trying to get both Adobe DNG Converter ande Helicon Focus to open my raw Panasonic RW2 files, trying everything suggested on Google, but then stumbled on my particular solution. Almost all of the web links emphasize to update your LR or PS to the latest version, but in my case the problem was that ADOBE DNG CONVERTER WAS AN OLDER VERSION and therefore didn't recognize my particular camera model. So the fix was to simply download the latest version of DNG Converter and once installed, voila, problem solved! Just always make sure that ALL of the APPS you are using are updated to the current version and many of these kind of problems will disappear. Good luck.

bro what i did was a complete reinstall. Wipe everything clean and install again, not the most convenient fix but a no-brainer, and PS got to work and save like normal again.

Yeah. I am glad I found this thread, so I am not crazy after all, with all these weird mouse cursor bugs in macOS lately. But this is definately a PS thing, because when I close the damn application, the problem vanishes. It's annoying as F U C K, as I am too working in design, particulary for the web, where I working cursor is paramount. Please Adobe, make yourself worth the money we pay you and FIX THIS BUG!

Hello! I'm also having this issue, but the more I research, the more i'm convinced it's not something we exactly can fix. (But hopefully i'm wrong, because I also hate when LR does this. I like the "original" colors/highlights/shadows better than when LR automatically corrects it.) I found this in a link which ill add below for more context... but... "Embedded previews are preview images that are generated directly from the image file itself rather than one created by the Lightroom program. You see, when you take a photograph (especially in RAW), the camera creates a JPG preview of that image and embeds it in the image file. For example, that’s the preview you see on your camera screen when you review photos. " LR applies these "Embeded Previews" to make it easier for the program and you to cull through photos quickly. "When it is time to edit photographs, Lightroom will have to generate either a standard preview or a smart preview" It goes on to say "Lightroom cannot edit on an embedded preview "... which sadly, is the preview you get a split second before LR automatically corrects the "brightness and overexposure" to which you're referring to. The article goes on to break down the difference between each LR Preview option (these are prompted on import) so I highly suggest scrolling down to learn what preview is best for you, and how it impacts your editing... because I just did and wow my life is changed. Hope this helps! What Are Embedded Previews In Lightroom + How To Use Them

The error: I need to replace the image of a mockup smart object (book cover), but when I go to do this, it restarts in every case. I wouldn't say it's a difficult and CPU demanding task. Delete the CT Font Cache folder did not help. Scratch Disks setting to another disk did not help.

Ack, I shouldn't reply when I'm in a hurry. The original steps were correct, so I added a screenshot showing what step 4 should look like: https://community.adobe.com/t5/lightroom-classic-discussions/how-to-turn-off-lens-corrections-on-import/m-p/15144270#M396025 Your screenshot shows that you haven't checked Lens Corrections.

This has been an immensely useful thread. I'm grateful to the OP for opening this topic and to all the people who gave advice, suggestions and performed tests on their own machines to try and replicate the problem. To synthesize what I've learned on the topic I wrote the following post on reddit https://www.reddit.com/r/Lightroom/comments/1ih2hud/lightroom_preview_and_export_look_different/ I'll explain in short here also. For anyone facing the same problem as OP and me go read the following article on preview types: https://digital-photography-school.com/6-types-lightroom-previews My suggestion is to build standart previews instead of the default setting of embedded. Maybe not use smart previews although I'm not sure they're a problem. And finally for good measure set the high DPI scaling setting of the lightroom.exe to be decided by the application. All of those should make LRC fast enough to work properly and avoid the problem that brought us here in the first place.

This might be possible via scripting, otherwise ExifTool would do the job. Edit: looks like LensTagger is a specialised GUI for ExifTool.
I'd need to have a sample file with the metadata to change and a screenshot to verify which exact fields need to be changed.

@jane-e https://community.adobe.com/t5/download-install-discussions/adobe-cs-5-5-deaktivieren-und-aktivieren/m-p/15132802#M587788 There seems to be some confusion as to what servers are available for activation. There are a lot of posts/threads since Dec 2024 indicating they cannot activate even with valid activation counts. The last I heard from Adobe was they were rolling down and it appears Adobe Support posted the same here. Looks like Jeff still says they are active, but these users would disagree.
