Gotcha, thanks for sharing that.    Do you have any scripts docked in your workspace? Can you try switching to the Default workspace (and resetting if if you've modified it or added any third-party panels), then restart AE? If the error doesn't come up again, I think it's likely pointing to a third-party panel you have docked in your UI that needs updating. Hello there, Since some people still appear to have the issue, I wanted to leave my solution on here, as it might help someone. Mac user here. I too was having issues when importing these "jpegs" into After Effects and Photoshop, and wasn't able to convert them to other image formats neither But since it worked on the Finder, I tried opening them up directly with the Preview, hit Export, choose another file format, and lo and behold - it worked! I cant seem to get tapered strokes working with dashes. Im trying to create a dotted trajectory, of variable width, the closer to moving object larger and tapering down . The moment I add the slightest taper of  even 0.1 the dotted lines dissapear. Any solution? Is this a limitation of Shape layers? For example this effect is easily done with trapcode 3d stroke. ... All fixed for now thanks to support. Had to change all of the Application Support files, and remove the preferences. For some reason on uninstall even thougth i had selected remove entirely - it kept them. Strange behaviour indeed.  Baring in mind nothing had changed my end. ... View more
