Hi,

I'm looking to buy Adobe CS6 Master Collection as opposed to the monthly Creactive Cloud versions now available but don't know where to buy them from. I have found copies on sites such as eBay but not sure if they're pirate copies and whether Adobe will accept them or if I'll be penalised for using them in the event that they turn out to be illegal copies. Please advise, your help is greatly appreciated.

Kind regards,

Mohamed

Most of Adobe stuff on ebay is pirated software. There is no possibility to get legally CS6 nowadays, except in very rare cases.

What are your risks?

  • getting malware.
  • getting fooled.
  • getting locked out by Adobe because your serial number is bad/overused.
  • getting the wrong license (ie educational software) that cannot be activated.

(You asked this question also on an old thread. I will lock that threat. There is nothing more to be added to the correct answer there.)

Adobe quit making and selling Creative Suite software over 3 years ago.  It's no longer available for purchase by any vendor, retailer or country now.

99% of software sold on auction sites like e-Bay is not worth having.   But if you go down that slippery slope, keep in mind that both the license transferor (current owner) and the recipient (new owner) must complete a Transfer of License form. Both forms must be returned to Adobe before the license can be transferred.  If the seller is unwill

I purchased a CS6 Extended DVD from Bonanza (an Ebay Assosciate) last week 10/25/2020 and it works fine. He has one more available at a reasonable price. Adobe does not acknowledge CS6 anymore, however it still works on my PC and edits my photos etc.

I'm glad it worked for you but buying software on eBay or any other auction site is still very risky.  You don't know what you're getting until it's too late.  And you have no recourse if the software fails, the serial numbers are blocked or worse, it infects your computer with malware or ransom ware.

You are lucky. I hope for you that the DVD is genuine. As stated above, it may well be that the serial number gets locked out at some stage.

Maybe because it was resurrected by a spammer as often happens to unlocked topics.  😞
