Hi all , bought a Adobe Photoshop elements download from a Amazon third party . Downloaded ok ,but won't install, error code 183 showing. Researched on line advised to close anti virus, and install as administrator. Still can't install. Contacted Amazon for refund, they suggested downloading Rosetta 2. I'm running Windows 11,Rosetta's for Mac. Any ideas folks.

I've moved your post from Using the Community (for forum questions) to Photoshop Elements where you are more likely to get assistance from the PSE Experts.
I looked up Error 183
https://helpx.adobe.com/download-install/kb/fix-error-183.html
"Error 183 is a fairly generic error that could mean a number of different problems, from permissions to an aggressive virus checker to a setting on Windows that prevents installation. "
Purchasing from a third party means you are running the risk of purchasing a pirated copy that may contain malware.
You didn't say what version of PSE you have.

Rosetta 2 is no longer required.
What version of Photoshop Elements?
What operating system do you have?
What are the complete computer specs, including hard drives (how many, what kind, what is on each, what capacity, and how full)?
If NVIDIA graphics on Windows, make sure to use the latest Studio Driver from NVIDIA (NOT the Game Driver).

Check to make sure that you have purchased a Windows version, not a Mac version of the program.
Try downloading from the link found in this post. (The download is for an earlier version of Elements 2024. A recent update has caused problems for many users.)

on Windows 11 make sure you install the _x86_ version (yes, even if OS is x64) of VC++ redistributable packages: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=40784

Oh and I needed to install the x64 version, for the editor to actually be able to run after I got it installed.

Thanks! I had 2005, 2008, 2010, 2012, 2015-2022, but not the required 2013 installed! Installed both 32bit and 64bit of VC++ redistributable 2013 and ran the installer with administrative access worked.

Thank you...this solved my problem that I have been trying to sort for a couple of weeks.
I was trying to reinstall Elements 2023 on Windows 11 after a Windows rebuild was required.
Steps taken for others to try.
Fresh install of Windows with data retained
Download of above x86 and x64 Visual Studio 2013 C++ files. Run both files, then modify, repair files. (Version 12)
Uninstall original versions (Version 14)
Reboot machine
Install Elements 2023.

BoE75 Thanks I finally got PS Elements 2022 installed. Very counterintutive - Adobe is still using 16-bit versions of their apps!! Another reason to find an alternative to Adobe products!

You installed PSE 2022 and three more versions have been released. The newer versions have 64-bit.

So the answer is to buy another Adobe product and hope that I can actually use it. After spending hours I finally got PSE installed. When I try to run the PSE Editor I get "Missing MSVCP120.dll" error. I've installed the 16 and 32-bit of this file, rebooted my PC numerous times. I still get the same error. I've downloaded PSE again from my Adobe account. Un-installed PSE and re-installed from the newly downloaded file. Same problems.
After my bad experience and reading the many messages from users that have similar problems I have no confidence in Adobe and I no have intention of spending more money on Adobe products.

Perfect, thank you, I installed the x86 and x64. I was able to then install Photoshop Elements 2023 without rebooting. Mwah!

Do you mean that you replaced one computer with a new one because of a hard drive crash? If so, the problem may be that
you failed to deactivate the program on that computer and you have installed the program on the maximum allowed (2 computers).
Please give us a screenshot of any error messages you are receiving.

Adobe Support team wrote me that PSE22 was not supported with windows 11.
To answer your questions. My old PC didn't boot anymore, so I couldn't desactivate It
Anyway, I send you error messages and log files
Thanks

Hi Sylvia, can you confirm that you contacted Adobe Customer Care by Chat or X (Twitter) and that this was not a PM sent through this forum? I'm asking because Adobe uses "Adobe Customer Care" not "Adobe Support Team" and want to confirm that you were not talking to spammers.

Adobe uses @adobe.com. Spammers use @outlook.com. Don't send them any money. Did they send you a PM? If so, what is their user name on the forums?

Mike Chen is probably not its real name. At the top of the PM is an Adobe ID and your name. We need the ID to report the account. You can also report it by clicking the three dots, then the Report button.
I don't use PSE, so wait for @Greg_S. to return and advise you about PSE22. Volunteers who are in the Adobe system have "Community Expert" and a star on their avatars. Staff has "Adobe Employee" and an Adobe logo on theirs.
